A Calling That Started in Front of a Mirror
My passion for skin began when I was a little girl; using my mother’s Pimplex cream, admiring myself in the mirror, and every Christmas turning red paper decorations into “lipstick.”
What I didn’t know then was that my mum was dealing with acne and acne scars, something I only came to understand later in life. I also remember constantly struggling with inflammation as a child and always being on different ointments. Back then, I’m not even sure the diagnosis was right, only later did I learn that what I had been battling all along was eczema.
That early curiosity stayed with me. By 14, I already had a skincare routine, and during school holidays I would visit beauty stores just to check what new skincare products were on the shelves. Growing up, people constantly complimented my skin, and that planted a deep desire in me to help others feel the same confidence and joy in their own skin.
From Experience to Science
My journey into skin health began through lived experience. Watching my mum struggle with acne and scarring and later facing severe eczema during my child-bearing years, taught me that skin has no shortcuts. The flare-ups, sensitivity, and frustration showed me that true skin health requires patience, understanding, and consistent care.
During COVID, I intentionally pursued the science of skin, studying anatomy, inflammation, barrier health, and advanced aesthetics. I learned what I now teach daily: skin reflects our hormones, lifestyle, stress, nutrition, and emotions.
